MATTE FINISH - WATER-BASED

TECHNISEAL COLOR BOOST PAVER PROTECTOR (CB) from TECHNISEAL is a high-tech matte-finish penetrating protective sealant that provides color enhancement to porous pavers. TECHNISEAL COLOR BOOST PAVER PROTECTOR also acts as an oil repellent, making cleaning easier by preventing oil, grease (barbecue) and dirt from penetrating the material. As a water repellent, it helps prevent the appearance of mold and protects against water damage. Easy to apply, it provides maximum effectiveness and durability. Non-filmforming, TECHNISEAL COLOR BOOST PAVER PROTECTOR will not make surfaces more slippery and hence is ideal for protecting pool decks, patios, steps, walkways, etc. It is also ideal for retaining walls.

BEFORE YOU BEGIN

Wear adequate protective clothing.
BECAUSE THIS PRODUCT IS PENETRATING, IT CANNOT BE EASILY REMOVED. To ensure the results will meet your expectations, always test the product on a small hidden area of approximately 4 sq.ft. Do not thin or dilute.

Apply only to bare material or to material that has been previously sealed with CB PROTECTOR.
Wait until the surface of the Protector is completely worn before recoating (minimum of 2 years).
New concrete pavers and slabs: Efflorescence (whitish salt) may appear on such materials within 60 days following installation (time frame may be different in dry climates). Exposure to water triggers this phenomenon. Letting this process occur before treatment will ensure better results.
Light grey pavers: These types of surfaces may show uneven color shading after application of this product; the application of semi-gloss EV PROTECTOR or natural look iN PROTECTOR is recommended. Not recommended for poured concrete, natural stones or wetcast pavers. Avoid these materials as product cannot be removed completely.

PREPARATION: Proper surface cleaning and preparation is essential.

           
STAIN REMOVAL
If necessary, Remove all stains (oil, rust, etc.) from the surface using the appropriate TECHNISEAL stain removers.


           
CLEANING
This step is essential to obtain optimal color boost. Prepare the entire surface by removing all efflorescence and ground-in dirt with PAVER PRIMER or EFFLORESCENCE CLEANER from TECHNISEAL. This ensures a uniform look and allows the PROTECTOR to better penetrate the surface.

           
APPLICATION
Surface must be clean, dry (24 hours without precipitation) and warm to the touch (morning). Temperature must be between 50°F and 85°F and rain should not be forecasted over the next 24 hours. For optimal results, apply product under constant weather conditions and using the same application method from start to finish.
1) Using a FOAM ROLLER or an airless sprayer*, apply a first coat of CB PROTECTOR;
2) To prevent residue staining, remove from the surface any PROTECTOR that has not penetrated the surface within 5 minutes;
3) Back-roll product residues with a FOAM ROLLER before it dries;
4) Let dry at least 30 minutes before applying the second coat;
5) If surface is extremely porous, a third coat may be necessary. DO NOT apply more than 3 coats.
Tip: To work on freshly sealed surfaces, wear steel-spiked footwear (old golf shoes).

*Spray application may be used, provided the spray is not too fine, which would cause evaporation of the PROTECTOR before it has time to penetrate the surface.

IMPORTANT: Always back-roll to remove any excess as described above. Let dry for 24 hours before allowing traffic on the surface.
